I think you should pick me because I am the caretaker of my 44 year old husband and am a mom of two.
My husband was diagnosed with fluid on the brain (congenital hydrocephalus) and while waiting for the doctors also had a stroke. That was in September of 2003. He is permanently paralyzed on his right side and in a wheelchair. He also has double vision (wears a patch), speech impairment, etc.. I help him with everything from dressing, bathing, changing his diapers, getting in and out of bed, chair and car. It is tough on him sometimes. He feels more independent when he is in his motorized wheelchair. My father in law says our car won't make it much longer. He can't buy us another car when it dies cause they can't afford it. They already pay our rent and gas for our car. My husband wishes we could get a vehicle that sits up higher than our Ford Taurus, like a 4 door truck or something like that. He gets up in higher vehicle easier than our car. He got into our friends Danali with ease. He aslo wishes we had a lift so he can take his wheelchair with him when we go places. I am sure that there are others who probably deserve help more than us. We are just praying that you help us. God Bless you all and may he keep you in his arms. I am also a full time caregiver and do for my 78 year old Mom what you do for your husband. You are blessed to have inlaws helping you as they can. I truly hope you get your wish. Wish the "Caregiver Fairy" would come along and give us all what we need. LOL Best of luck

Hope you get a better car.. I really do.. It'll do the world of good for your husband gettin in & out.. I'm a home carer for my husband too.. He's 24 & I'm 23.. I used to have to wash bathe him dress him. Feed him because he lost the use of his arms as they dislocated numerous times.. Thankfully he's had his two surgeries to correct his problems but he's still not 100%.. I know how hard it can be to care for someone & wishes barely come true.. In your case they will.. i'm wishing you & your husband all the best...
