I know what it is like to deal with prescriptions. We spend hundreds each month, even with insurance covering them. We were without insurance for a period of time last year, and couldn't afford most of them. I didn't think I would survive until we had insurance again, but we made it through it. Still, it is hard coming up with the money every month. Between them and the rest of our bills, and it leave nothing at the end of the month. I wish you the best and hope you reach your goal.

Many of the drug companies will donate your needed meds. It usually takes a little time. But basically you find the drug makers name and search for it on the internet. Find the drug you are taking and fill out a request form for discounted or free drugs. They send you the form, You have to then take it to your Doctor who verifies your dosage and prescription, The drug company goes through there approval process and blah blah blah, But you usually end up with your meds delivered to your Drs Office or a discount card to take to the pharmacy. Either way it will help save a few bucks here and there. And most drug companies participate in the program. Good Luck.

Thanks! The donations have been great, but the need is just never ending. It seems like everyday there's a new expense that I just can't afford.

Are all of your medications generic drugs? If not, ask your doctor to give you enough samples to get you through each month. Pharma companies (sales reps) throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of expired samples on a regular basis....there is typically no shortage. Call your doctor and make it clear to them that you aren't able to afford the meds and ask them when you can go pick up samples to get you through the month. Typically doctors are happy to provide you with samples if they have them. (I used to be a drug rep)

Some Lupus meds you cannot get in samples....actually most you can't....but the drugs we must take for other stuff, sometimes....Like for me I am 14 drugs, and only 2 I can get samples for, and only sometimes....
Some of them are. I've been using samples for Cymbalta - which is an anti-anxiety, anti-depressant and pain medication since it wasn't covered on my insurance when I had it. I think it's pretty expensive and there is no generic for it, but it's one of the only drugs that is thought to help with Fibromyalgia. I would really like to continue taking it. It's the first anti-depressant type drug i've found that works with me. Of course it's the newest, most expensive one. :P I've been given lots of links to organizations that can help me pay for prescriptions while I'm re-applying for disability, but the application process takes a little while. I truly truly hope you get your wish granted! You deserve it! It's not easy for all you've been going through! I am going through medical problems of a different kind and I know the feeling. I hope you get a good attorney and get disability which you deserve! Then I honestly wish you get a cure, or at the very least - some control over your illnesses so that you can be self-sufficient and productive....and most of all never to have to beg again, because I know how that feels, because it took me a lot of courage to post on this site myself, but I had to try, just like you.
