Why me? Because Otis is my life and as my youngest son says, he has been "the glue that holds our family together." How can one little animal mean so much, some might ask? Well, to us, Otis is not a dachsie, but a true member of our family. My "midlife crisis baby" and a "brother" to my boys. He is our eternal two year old. He is innocent and didn't ask for these problems. I found out that Oti has some very serious heart problems. The trouble is, they cannot treat him until they find out what those problems are. And MY problem is that the diagnositic at the University of Minnesota is over 600 dollars! I already have $150.00 in donations and I am doing fund raisers. But every day that passes means another day his heart is being tested, because his little heart is beating way too fast. I have been just sick about this. Most of you know how much Otis means to me. Please help me keep my baby for many more years. Life has not been fair to Otis. He has had two back injuries and now this. I paid every penny of his back surgery (over 2,000 dollars) all by myself, no help from anyone. That is why I sometimes call him my "million dollar baby." lol This time, I need help. I am only asking for 80 so someone else can win. If anyone wants proof, I have proof that this is all really happening. I so wish that it wasn't. Otis is the best dachsie ever and doesn't deserve this after all he has already been through, but no one said that life is fair. I want to give the kids a home-made New Years, like I had when I was a kid.

I wish for Bridget (findingmyfriends) to relax and enjoy some time to herself. She is working several jobs 3 at last count to try and help her family get caught up with bills. On top of that she is running her son around to appointments. She has no time for herself. So my wish for her is a 12 pack of beer, some bubble bath and one of those cute foot massagers from walmart. you know the ones with the frogs, dog, bears, or what ever animal she would like. Beer is her drink of choice and she needs a long hot bath. The foot messager is cause she hates anyone to touch her feet but she really needs to relax and this will help her so much. I hope you will see fit to grant this wish. I think every mom who would work 3 jobs to help her family make it needs a break. One of her jobs is in retail and if you have ever worked retail you know that the first few weeks is the worst every muscle in your body hurts sooooooo bad you want to die. My sisters husband went into the hospital about a week ago with walking pneumonia it was so bad they put him on a ventilator. He was getting better and the hospital doctors took him off. He seemed confused and wasnt doing good with his brain function. He got better with in hours. A little more than 24 hours after he was off the ventilator he passed. My sister is destroyed. She has severe health issues of her own. She has a severe case of MS and is going threw Chemo to help her. Her health is not good. We are afraid of what this will do to her. Also my father is going in for surgery on his pacemaker tomorrow at the same hospital and they might have to sedate her. She is soo paranoid and its sad. I have been in tears for 2 days on and off I try not to let the boys see.
What I need to ask this community for isn't a lot. My sister needs all the cheering up we give her. I would like to raise the money to get her a gift certificate for a spa treatment. Please if anyone can I want her to get as many cards in the mail as possible. She didn't deserve this and either did he. No one does. So if you can send a card I will PM her address to you. I'm using every dime I have to pay the electricity bill on Friday. We tried all resources and there is no way other than paying the full amount which is $250.07 to keep our electricity and water turned on. Doing this keeps the utilities on, but takes all of our money for our rent that was due on the 1st. food, gas, diapers, and all other needs. We have twisted and turned all resources until they are just empty. This is my second attempt at this and it would really help to win this. I know that everyone is very tight right now, but anything helps. I have received $41 in donations between WUAH and the chipin Stormy made for me, and I think $10 from being second place last round. I know Christmas isn't all about having presents and 'stuff' so, that's not what I'm asking for.
Den and Paula have been doing everything possible and using all of their resources to try and save their home and take care of Paula's on-going medical problems.
They've kind of put Christmas on the back burner, just hoping they actually have a house to celebrate it in.
$90 isn't going to buy gifts for 5 kids and 2 adults but, it might buy a nice meal and some ingredients to do some holiday baking...with enough left over for some Christmas candy or trinkets for stockings.
I know that whatever they have, they'll be happy and grateful for it and they will have their family all together, which is more than a lot of folks have.
I'd just like to see them have a time when they could breathe easy and enjoy the day with a little something extra.
I think Den is a pretty amazing guy to have his Scouts doing a tree and gifts for a needy family when his own family won't be having much at all either.
Not to mention, they do a lot of things for people 'behind the scenes' here on GoN.
More than once they've sent clothes for Josephine and I think I've seen others mention the same thing.
When Den was in a better position financially, he was one of the biggest supporters of the fund raising auctions here, usually giving away what he won.
BTW, I just thought the video was cute. It doesn't mean Den is gonna have nothing for Christmas cuz he was bad.
Although.....flaunting his nekkid pussy every time he comes to GoN AND stealing Paula's pink pen might qualify him for that too. ;) (more)

We dont have a christmas tree as of now, One of my friends was giving me her old one but when we took it out some of the pieces were missing ugh! A tree isnt a need for us its just something to add the christmas spirit here. We have have come along way and are happy just to be in a place to live for the holiday season.
I found a cool looking tree at walmart here its 39.99 I would love to have it! I have decorations each year for the kids my bf's mom makes them all there own decrations for christmas so when they are older they can put them on their own tree.
I could always go and cut one down somewhere LMAO but dont need to end up in jail! I cant have a real one becasue of snoop dog he likes to pee on pine trees LOL

I put this in needy the first try because I do need this is a big way. I decided to try it in greedy..I guess it could be considered a little selfish to want something for myself no matter how much I need this emotionally =)
As some of you know, I have been struggling with depression and stress due to my son's illness, and up-coming bone marrow transplant. I feel alone even with a house full of kids (3 still here), and hubby. My parents live in NC and my 2 oldest sons moved to TX and MD in May, niether have the means to come home.. I have not seen my parents in over 5 yrs..and they have not seen their grandchildren. There will be no gifts this yr, (meds, doctors, and bills come first), but that is fine..Christmas isn't found under a tree..and I can think of no better gift to my sons than to have their grandparents here for the holidays. I need someone here that I know cares about me and my children. Husband is no help, he's a man, he wants to "fix" me and tell me not to cry.. I need to talk to my mom about my fears with J's transplant..and get her motherly advice, lectures and love. I desprately need the "family feeling" now, esspecially around the holidays..I have tried twice to drag out Christmas decorations..but end up sobbing and shoving them back in storage...with 4 brothers and a sister, then having 6 boys, I am use to having family around...my "nest", and my heart feels empty...and I want my son to see his grandparents, uncles and brothers before his 3 month hospital stay. I talk to my mom on the phone weekly, and usually we both end up crying..it isn't the same as giving her a hug. Thanks for reading..and won't you please drop off some stars? (more)

I'm finally breaking down and making a needy wish. I usually am on top of things, but money has been really funny around here. I'm short a little over $100 for my electric/water bill this month. It is way too cold to be without electric with the girls here. I've checked with the local places that help and they are either tapped or I don't qualify. Sherri and Tom have lot of physical challenges and the medical bills to prove it.
Sherri recently underwent a battery of tests to figure out what is wrong with her. She has no insurance, so those bills will be sky high, and $$ is scarce in the Ferst household. She does a lot for this community, running contests, auctions, helping out the Avon fairy, etc., and I'd like to win this wish to help her out with her medical bills. Well you see this is a family tradition that started a long time ago. His mother was quite the busy mother as she has 5 children. Having so many children meant that you had to economize on some things. So the traditional birthday cake in her household was a yellow cake mix baked at home with peanut butter frosting. Her family adored her recipe and she was always given standing ovations for her creations.
Then one year, disaster struck. It was his tenth birthday and one he would never forget. Half the children were sick with the flu and there was a birthday to plan for! Where was the father you ask? Well he was in the Navy and out at sea for 6 months. He was not due to come home till Christmas Eve. So mom faced this disaster by herself without the loving support of another adult. (Or anyone else to blame).
While she was running from child to child administering cold medicine and Vick's vapor rub the smoke alarm went off. Then everyone was dashing about as smoke filled the air. Black tendrils curled along the ceiling and filled the air. The stench was heavy and her heart was filled with dread as she opened the oven door as a plume of black smoke curled up from what was going to be a birthday cake.
With tears in her eyes she pulled it out of the inferno and turned off the oven. She laid it to rest in peace on the cement front porch to be mourned. (So it did not catch the rest of the house on fire of course!) The neighbors looked on with curious expressions as the children gathered round to pay their last respects to a tradition that had been the highlight of their birthdays.
Collecting herself and wiping the tears from her blackened face she looked at her oldest son and declared ?You will have a birthday cake!? She marched inside and grabbed her car keys muttering under her breath. What she said I dare not repeat to young ears. The children watched in dismay as their mother asked a neighbor to watch over them as she went to the store.
While she was gone the children looked around dumbstruck. What had started out as a triumphant and joyous day had turned serious and sad. Their adoring mother had never failed at anything before. They cleaned up the mess hoping to cheer her up when she got back.
She returned about a half hour later. She shooed all the children out of the kitchen without a word. She carefully pulled them out of the box and wrappers. With intense concentration she stacked them using Cool Whip as her mortar. She used every skill that Lego had taught her. She had added a dollop of creativity from Betty Crocker. She smiled at the finish result as she added some birthday candles.
She called out in a clear voice as she put her apron away ?Children come here it is time for Birthday Cake!? The children were astounded as they had not seen their mother bring in a store bought cake. Nor had they heard her mixing or setting the timer for a new cake. They hurried to the kitchen and stared jaws agape. Their mother was holding a SQUARE CAKE!
She began to sing Happy Birthday to you?Cary wiped away a tear knowing how much she loved him. He swore to his mother that day. I will never eat another birthday cake unless it is Twinkies and Cool Whip and a square cake!
Okay honestly this is just a story to make you laugh. December 9th is my husband's birthday (his name is Cary). He jokingly told me that he wants a Diet Pepsi and a cake made from Twinkies and Whip Cream for his birthday. Well if this wish wins I will give him just that! Just to see his reaction! I promise to take pictures too! I will use the rest of the money to take him out for his birthday! So help me astound my husband by giving him exactly what he asked for!

My son lost his ear on June 19th 2008 from a horrible dog attack. The doctors told us that we were so lucky that my son didnt loose his life b/c the nature of the dog usually goes for the throat. We are trying to get my son a prosthetic earso we can get his glasses back on his face. We have run out of all resources and can not afford to do it on our own.
